Why are the brakes on my Nissan Leaf squeaking?

I recently purchased a Nissan Leaf and noticed that the brakes are making a squeaking noise whenever I come to a stop. Is this something I should be concerned about? What could be causing this?

It's normal for new brake pads to make some noise during the break-in period. However, if the noise persists or becomes louder, it could indicate an issue with the brake pads or rotors. I would recommend bringing your car to a certified mechanic for a thorough inspection.

I had the same issue with my Nissan Leaf when I first got it. I found that using the brake pedal more lightly instead of pressing down hard reduced the squeaking. Give it a try and see if it helps.
